California Assembly committee on Arts, Entertainment, Sports, Tourism & Internet Media
John Severini, CalTravel's President/CEO of the California Travel Association testified at an information hearing to members of the California Assembly committee on Arts, Entertainment, Sports, Tourism & Internet Media, which was held on September 23. This hearing was Chaired by the Honorable Nora Campos, and was a forum to hear from industry leaders on "CTTC Spinning Gold: Marketing Travel & Tourism in California". John Severini's testimony included information on the impact of CTTC marketing to employment, revenue, spending and taxes in the State. Additionally, Mr. Severini discussed the role of travel and tourism in the overall recovery of California's current economic situation. Travel, Tourism and Hospitality provides for more revenues than the top five leading export categories in the state, and offers California the most efficient path toward economic recovery based upon studies and data.
