In light of the devastation and loss of life caused by the California North Bay wildfires, PIER 39 made the decision to cancel its 39th Anniversary fireworks show on October 14th and instead created a “Party with a Purpose”. Guests enjoyed great music, entertainment and, most importantly, donated money to the American Red Cross to help those affected by the California wildfires. PIER 39 provided a gift to everyone who made a donation. Many of these appreciation gifts came from various partners and attractions in our community.

All year long PIER 39 had been celebrating its 39th birthday with 39 weeks of extra special happenings every Friday. “We’ve had a lot of fun this year reveling with both our locals and visitors,” said Taylor Safford, President & CEO of PIER 39. “It was now important to shift our focus to building a stronger community and helping our neighbors during these horrific fires. We urged all of our guests, merchants, and employees to donate,” added Safford.

PIER 39 is proud to report that it raised $93,000 for the American Red Cross’ California Wildfire Relief Fund. The generosity of our guests, merchants, and employees made this gift possible. PIER 39 is grateful to all those who contributed both near and far to provide assistance to our California North Bay neighbors.
