EVENT OVERVIEW
Join us for the Spring Board Meeting at Oceanside’s gorgeous new Mission Pacific Hotel! We’ll discuss priorities for the year ahead and share updates on advocacy efforts, committee work, strategic plan, upcoming events, and more. We'll also do a deep dive on bills being introduced and share plans for a very different Tourism Advocacy Day 2022.
Assemblymember Tasha Boerner Horvath, the newly appointed Chair for the Committee on Arts, Entertainment, Sports, Tourism & Internet Media, will discuss her priorities for this legislative session and the work she has done to support jobs, economic development, and the economy. Asm. Boerner Horvath represents District 76, which encompasses Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, Vista, Carlsbad, and Encinitas.
Davin Waite, Oceanside's own celebrity chef-owner of Wrench & Rodent and The Whet Noodle, will speak about sustainability in the restaurant industry and discuss Fishful Future, a new collaborative project that seeks to move the fishing, seafood processing, and culinary industries in San Diego County toward a zero-waste supply chain.
Plus, join us for a truly unique PAC fundraising dinner at the Oceanside Museum of Art. Attendees will take a short, scenic stroll from the hotel to the museum, stopping along the way for a craft cocktail at Frankie’s. Chef Davin Waite will prepare a custom, four-course, plant-based menu featuring locally sourced fish and produce from Mraz Family Farms. Mingle, roam the museum, and hear live music by award-winning local artist Shane Hall. Tickets are $200, and proceeds benefit the CalTravel PAC, unless attendees tell us otherwise.
Board meetings are free, open to all members, and a great way to stay informed and connected all year round.
