In-District Tourism Advocacy Day

EVENT OVERVIEW

Traditionally, Tourism Advocacy Day has been a two-day event hosted in Sacramento where members met with legislators and staff in the Capitol to discuss legislation impacting the tourism industry.

This year, we will be doing Tourism Advocacy Day a little differently. Because of the limited space in Capitol offices due to the annex restoration, CalTravel is organizing a coordinated, in-district Tourism Advocacy Day on Friday, May 6. CalTravel will organize groups, craft effective meeting requests, provide virtual advocacy training workshops, and create materials for leave-behinds.

This is an opportunity to meet with elected officials in their district offices where they have more space and a slightly less hurried pace than in Sacramento. Our first priority will be gaining support for the $45 million tourism marketing allocation in the Governor’s budget proposal.

To help us with planning, please sign up by March 28.

We hope you will participate in this important initiative!
