CalTravel Fall Board Meeting

YOSEMITE, HERE WE COME!

Join us for our Fall Board Meeting at the majestic Tenaya at Yosemite. Our two-day program will include updates on tourism advocacy work and state politics, interactive discussions, committee meetings, networking opportunities, and insights from guest speakers. Board meetings are free and all members are welcome.

We will follow the regular meeting with a board members-only retreat the afternoon of December 4 through the morning of December 5.

GUEST SPEAKERS

ROBERT MACAULAY - DEC. 3

On December 3, Madera County Supervisor Robert "Bobby" Macaulay will be our guest speaker for a special session on the unique challenges and priorities of rural destinations like Yosemite—from wildfires and overtourism to land management and water conservation.

Macaulay was born and raised in Madera County and has seen firsthand the transformation that has taken place over the past 35 years.

JOHN LAMBETH - DEC. 4

On December 4, Civitas Founder and CEO John Lambeth will be leading a discussion at the board meeting on the spending and contribution dos and don'ts for DMOs, non-profits, and for-profit organizations.

We've recently seen an influx of questions from members regarding PAC giving and other contributions. Attend this session to get clarity on the rules so you can confidently support the causes you care about, while staying out of trouble.

SPECIAL EVENTS

PAC DINNER - DEC. 3

Get ready for a fariytale evening at the Elderberry House at Château du Sureau—the only five-star, five-diamond restaurant near Yosemite National Park.

Renowned for its impeccable service, gorgeous setting, and subtle elegance, this culinary oasis blends the charm and beauty of the Provençal region of France with central California’s verdant landscape.

The evening begins with a reception featuring fine wines, savory hors d’oeuvres, and tours of the Chateau. After you’ve had a chance to appreciate the beauty of the estate, enjoy a carefully crafted three-course dinner showcasing locally sourced produce in sophisticated, flavor-packed dishes.

Tickets ($300) can be purchased during registration. Proceeds benefit the CalTravel PAC, unless you opt to direct them to our general operations instead.

BOARD RETREAT - DEC. 4-5

CalTravel board members are invited to stay after the board meeting to attend our first-ever Board Retreat. After the meeting concludes, we'll adventure into the park to discover what makes Yosemite so special (weather permitting); dinner to follow. The next morning, we'll reconvene for breakfast and an interactive morning session before parting ways.

Build connections, exchange ideas, and help shape the future of our association!
